My Month Long Orgy With Entrecard
Hey friends, it’s been about a month now using Entrecard and I just wanted to take a post to fill you in on what that has meant to raymondloesch.com - Earning a Living Online. Next to StumbleUpon and Organic Search it’s been holding it’s own in terms of bringing in the traffic. here are my stats as of today:

As you can see the stats are pretty good, although I don’t think these stats are for the whole month as I know I dropped more than 1,914 cards. Speaking of which I had my first 300 card drop day yesterday, I can’t believe I was able to reach that mark as I tend to read most blogs I drop a card on, It took over 6 hours to drop 300 Entrecards. I don’t think I will be able to do that again, although with the new script I picked up from TechiePortal.com I just may be able to hit that number again. The script opens a new EntreCard site on pressing the Win+Z button, you should definitely check this one out. The stats claim that I have advertised on 28 sites, I know that is wrong also, I know I have advertised on at least twice that and still have 20 adverts pending a couple from as far back as Jan 3. I am afraid to cancel these adverts I think that may hurt my stats someow, just don’t know how yet.
If anybody can make sense of the stats please drop me a line, I would like to have a better understanding of how they arrive at some of their numbers. Is Entrecard bringing quality visitors to my site? I don’t have the full answer to that yet, but I can tell you I have made quite a few friends, found some great blogs to subscribe to, increased my RSS subscribers and have learned a few new things. So all in all being an Entrecard member has been a tremendous benefit to me and my blog. The biggest benefit I see to being a member of Entrecard is having your blog seen by people who might not otherwise find your blog. I advertise on as many blogs as I can, some bring good traffic and some bring little traffic, but they all at least bring some traffic.

Finally I wanted to give a big thumbs up to CavemanConclusion.com for the ingenious little trick he has going on with his Entrecard Widget. Half of the Entrecard sites you visit try to hide the widget at the bottom of their site, so you will at least read through to get to it. Now I understand the reasoning behind this, you want your visitors to see what is actually on your site. The rest of us proudly put it above the fold so it easy to find. Cavemanconclusion.com makes his widget jump around a few times before you can actually click to drop your card, I love this. I don’t recommend that others do this as the novelty will wear off very quickly, but it is very cool so please do go and check it out.

OMG I feel really guilty now, cos the first time I encountered the jumping-around widget I laughed, but the last time, I couldn’t be arsed to chase it and just clicked out. Am I a bitch? I speed drop ‘n’ surf Entrecard, browsing at a more leisurely rate here and there, so I don’t miss the opportunity of discovering interesting content en route. But my time is valuable and I’ve just got better things to do with it than that.
On the other hand… Caveman is about light-hearted fun and it is funny — but wonder whether it wouldn’t be more successful if it played the prank once only on each unique visitor?

I always wondered how many hours it took different people to click 300 times and drop 300 cards. 6 hours - wow! Did you find any great new blogs you didn’t know existed before you did that?
I just linked this page and wrote about EC -

I am still torn on whether I like entrecard or not. It seems that I get a lot of traffic from it but it carries a bounce rate of 92%, but at the same time I have seen a steady increase in RSS subscribers.
I do not know if these new subscribers are from entrecard or not.

If you’re interested in hitting your 300 drops a day, then PowerDropping.com is the site for you.
Personally, I’m not enthralled with EntreCard.com. Every time I drop more than a set amount of cards in a set amount of time, they flag me as a cheater or somesuch, and dock me credits. I haven’t figured out the exact numbers, but it’s a pain since I have limited computer time and tend to have concentrated bursts of carding.
I have also noticed that every day I have to click on more sites just to get them to show up. I literally dropped 20 or so cards today before the system even recorded my first one. Right now I’m getting 3:1 clicks to records. I don’t know if that’s a bug on their point, or if it’s intentional.
Your mileage may vary.

I know the stats have been really off … dunno what’s going on in the backend. Keep posting your findings about EC. Good stuff.

Great idea to post how Entrecard has been for you. I was thinking of doing the same thing.
I’ve gotten quite a bit of added traffic myself. I can’t explain the stats myslef, because I’m seeing some weird results too.
But I didn’t see anyone mention Linky to you. This will help you reach that 300 drops per day much easier.
If you’re not familiar, it’s a Firefox addon that allows you to select up to 99 links at a time. I grab half the links at a time in my inbox in the morning and open them in tabs. Then go through one by one and just click and close.
I can do all 98 in my inbox within 15 minutes easily.
If you want more info, feel free to PM me.

I find EntreCard is a great way to jump start your blog and to gain traffic quickly especially for the someone just starting out. It has certainly helped me get out of the gate quickly.

the ads thing is the number of ads currently pending or running. Not the total you have bought.

I have a question, the traffic you get is quite proportional to the number of sites you visited.
But let’s say you took a break of about 3-4 days, does the traffic still come from entrecard?

Hi Jeflin, to answer your question I have not been as diligent in my entrecard dropping as I probably should be and I still see a continuous amount of traffic. Granted it is not as much as there would be if I was dropping on a regular basis.

It always take over 12 hours for me to drop 300 Entrecards because I read most blogs I drop a card on like you
The idea to makes the widget jump around is very well

I had the same questions about the stats, but you are doing way better than I am. Happy dropping… btw: enjoy your site.

Wow 300, I have a hard time doing 100 - 200. I am the same as you I read most of the posts, and some I go through their archives. I takes so much time, but it is the right thing to do.
